In this diptych, Julia Scholl works with photographs of dripstone caves, transferring them as delicate white screen prints onto black paper. From the darkness, tiny points of light emerge. The cave becomes a mirror of the inner life — a space for feelings, memories, and losses that dwell quietly in the shadows. It speaks also of what we hide or wish to forget. Dripstones form over vast stretches of time, almost imperceptibly, yet they continue to grow, patient and unceasing. Even what lingers in darkness for long stretches does not vanish — it leaves its trace.
