Max Kuwertz’ interdisciplinary design practice operates at the intersection of technology and creativity, aiming to unlock aesthetic value for many and celebrate creative empowerment. Rooted in the conviction that we, as creative beings, co-evolve with the tools we use, Kuwertz’ work intentionally transgresses the tired dichotomy of art and design. His image and video-based works, created with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and exhibited under the title Final Fantasy MMXXIV, explore the possibilities and limitations of AI as an artistic medium for human creative expression. The exhibition immerses viewers in hyperreal multi-verses, with works displayed on large-scale photo prints, digital screens, and in Black Boxes, blurring the boundaries between reality and virtuality, utopia and dystopia.

Kuwertz co-founded 1x1 Systems, a platform enabling people to produce furniture through parametric design and 3D printing. He is also the editor and publisher of Spells, a substantial print publication revealing valuable prompts by the world’s most talented AI image makers. Recently, he exhibited at Milan Design Week, Untitled Gallery in Berlin, and introduced AI-generated artwork for the 2024/25 seasonal campaign of the Staatstheater Braunschweig.
His personal work has been widely featured in contemporary culture publications, including Badland, Present, Form, Frame, and Zeit Magazine.
